About: Frankincense, which translates to “royal incense,” has a light, fresh, resinous scent. Excellent for skincare, Frankincense can be blended with your daily moisturizer or applied neatly on areas of concern, including blemishes, discoloration, scars, and minor scrapes or bruises. The oil also supports the respiratory system, encouraging easy breathing and healthy lungs. Often used for mediation, prayer and other spiritual practices, the scent of Frankincense elevates and calms the mind.
Our Frankincense essential oil is steam-distilled from the resin of Frankincense carterii. These dwarfed conifers trees grow in some of the world’s harshest conditions deep in the Somali deserts. To collect the sap, the harvesters make small cuts on the tree from which resin then drips. Over-harvesting can damage these precious trees, which is why Pranarom is committed to only using Frankincense that is sustainably harvested and organically grown.

How to use

To promote calm and relaxation, breathe in the scent of Frankincense essential oil using direct palm inhalation, a diffuser, or smelling salts.

For facial care, improving the look of fine lines and soothing blemishes, mix 1 drop Frankincense with lotion, cream, serum, facial oil or a toner and apply thinly to the face and neck.

For reducing the appearance of scar-tissue, mix 1/2 ounce Rose Hip Seed oil with 10 drops Frankincense, 7 drops Helichrysum, and 3 drops Sage. Apply a small amount to the scar 2-3 times a day for 1-4 months.

For uncomfortable joints and muscles, mix 12 drops Frankincense and 10 drops Peppermint into 1/2 ounce of carrier oil or lotion and rub into the areas of concern.

For topical application, use up to a 50% dilution rate. We recommend a 1-7% dilution rate for most purposes.

Usage precautions

Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Do not use while pregnant or breastfeeding. If irritation occurs, discontinue use. To remove essential oil, use plant oil (olive).

Smells great

"I enjoy the smell of frankincense, and often use it to fill a space with positivity and high vibrations. It makes sense that it is the incense of choice for many places of religious worship the world over. This essential oil version is great because it can be added to a diffuser, and released over time. The smell is enduring, and the amount lasts for a good amount of time. Although it is difficult to say based on smell alone, it would seem that this is a high quality product."

Nice Essential Oil but Pricey

"This is a nice smelling essential oil that is regarded as one of the best due to the fact it kills germs and bacteria, improves memory, helps with asthma, helps with inflammation and pain, and a variety of other health benefits. Packaging was also nice and it smelled great. My only critique is the price point is extremely high for an Essential oil as there are others on the market as premium as this that go for far less money. Nice but pricey"

"I love this Pranarom - Frankincense Essential Oil. Frankincense is one of my favorite essential oils because of it's healing properties. This particular frankincense oil did not dissapoint in any way. This oil is easy to apply and I have received much help with inflamation from using it. I love that it's organic and safe to use. "I am glad this essential oil is natural. Recently I found out the difference between essential oils and fragrances. I was wondering why the fragance was bothering my wife. Well the fragance is a mix of stuff and probably cause her allergies. We use this essential oil that’s natural with the diffuser and that took care of her issue. The aroma is light and relaxing perfect for use at night in the diffuser right before sleep. Good quality essential oil."

Nice scent but expensive

"Strong smell in the bottle. Smell is good in the diffuser though, better than on your fingers! Came in your mostly standard essential oil type glass bottle with the plastic droplet style insert which makes it easy to shake a selected number of drops out to get the level of fragrance you want. The killer for me is the $50 price for half an ounce. Even for organic I am not seeing the value. I would not buy it at this cost. For this I am dinging 2 stars because otherwise it's a decent product."

Smells Heavenly / Wonderful Quality Organic EO

"Frankincense is one of my favorite essential oils and I really like this one a lot! It's therapeutic grade as well as organic which, of course, is a huge PLUS. I looked at their process before selecting this oil and was impressed with the level of quality assurance taken with their products. Many essential oil companies don't take the time to explain any of that; they just want you to trust their name. This sets this company apart from others. The fragrance is heavenly and it feels silky (always use EOs in a carrier oil or lotion as opposed to straight). Definitely recommend this product!"
