Everything You Need To Know About Essential Oil Diffusion!

Diffusion is one of the best ways to enjoy the benefits of essential oils. But you may be wondering: Which diffuser should I choose? Which essential oils should I diffuse and why? What are the precautions for use? Discover the answers to your questions in this article!

Ultrasonic Diffusers

More recently introduced to the market, these devices have quickly established themselves as practical, effective, and respected solutions for diffusing essential oils. Their method is simple: at the base of the container, a ceramic pellet vibrates very rapidly, producing a train of ultrasonic waves that cause a small body of water to resonate. On the water's surface, a few drops of essential oil are transformed into microparticles that escape from the diffuser in the form of a lovely aromatic mist, optimizing the virtues of essential oils for health and well-being. These ultrasonic essential oil diffusers purify and lightly humidify the air, while subtly creating an olfactory experience. The diffusion process also takes place without heating the essential oils, thereby preserving their integrity and balance.

Our ultrasonic diffusers include Zen, Cera Linio, Cera Barocco, Nomad, Soul, Joy, Lulu & Mistilia

Practical and often attractive, ultrasonic diffusers lend themselves well to changing olfactory experiences, as you can quickly change the water in the diffuser and use a new blend. On the other hand, these devices need to be well-maintained to prevent the ceramic tablet from scratching or scaling.

How do I choose which essential oils to diffuse?

Ready-to-use essential oil synergies are available for safe, easy diffusion, but we'll come to that later.

You can also formulate your own diffusion blends to suit your mood and desires. You'll quickly become a fan of diffusion for a simple moment of well-being or for the benefits to the respiratory system.

Relaxing essential oils

Citrus essences are perfect for diffusing to aromatize the air. These include sweet orange, grapefruit, lemon, bergamot, and petitgrain. With their fruity, tangy aroma, citrus fruits banish everyday worries while purifying the air.

Petitgrain diffused in a work environment can really reduce stress. Find this oil in our Uplift Diffusion Blend.
Lemon diffused in a sick room can help purify the air.
Sweet orange can bring a sense of pleasure and deep relaxation.

Essential oils for unpleasant odors

Mint essential oils (spearmint & peppermint) are effective for tobacco odors. They should be used in combination with other essential oils, taking care not to exceed a maximum of 5%, as these oils can become irritating to the eyes.

In the bathroom, odors are neutralized with eucalyptus citriodora, lemon, grapefruit, or sweet orange.

For perspiration odors, use lavender or rose geranium essential oils.

To guard against winter ailments

During the winter, don't hesitate to diffuse essential oils to combat minor winter ailments. They are also useful for prevention, stimulating the immune system and boosting resistance to viruses.

A frequent winter ailment known around the world, the common cold is characterized by sneezing, headaches, and often, a runny nose. As a rule, symptoms start to disappear in 4-5 days. During this time, try diffusing essential oils of eucalyptus radiata, tea tree, or ravintsara to promote the respiratory system.

Basic rules and precautions

According to desired olfactory intensity:

Pour up to 15 drops of essential oils into the reservoir of your diffuser.

Diffuse for 10-15 minutes/hour.

There's no need to run the diffuser all day long. To start with, 10-15 minutes per hour should allow the essential oils to aromatize your room.

Do not diffuse in a child's bedroom in their presence.

For example, run the diffuser in his room an hour before putting him to bed.

Some essential oils are not suitable for diffusion.

They are contraindicated or unpleasant to diffuse. They can also be irritating to mucous membranes. This includes Ceylon cinnamon, oregano, clove, mountain savory, common thyme with thymol, and wintergreen. The exception to this is when they are professionally blended with other essential oils.

Some essential oils are potentially neurotoxic, including hyssop and sage. Lastly, the scent of some essential oils is unsuitable when diffused alone. These oils include basil, coriander, carrot, cypress, cumin, helichrysum, and roman chamomile.
